I'm sitting here listening to In The Silence by Jason Upton (link at the end) and I have the bible opened to Isaiah 55. That chapter and the song are the message of this devotion. 'Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.' Isaiah 55:6-7 NLT
“Seek the Lord while you can find him” These words ring so loud in my spirit and I feel inadequate to even write this letter to you because they are shining truth on areas of my life that need truth. As I write this a friend has sent me a text inviting me to play some games with him online. In that moment, even now as I write this to you. There are two kingdoms at war within me. My flesh wants to escape the presence of God and get what it wants. Then my spirit man wanted to yield to the Holy Spirit.
“Tired of telling you, you have me. When I know you really don't. Tired of telling you I'll follow. When I know I really don't. Cause I'd rather stand here speechless. With no great words to say. If my silence is more truthful. And my ears can hear how to walk in your way” These are the opening lyrics and they are so true for us all no matter how long we have been serving Christ. Let's allow God to speak to us and have deeper fellowship with us.
Much Love & God Bless
