Morning Coffee 7/5/19 OAK

July 4, 2019

Hello family...

'The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord ’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory." Isaiah 61:1-3 NLT

The tree in the banner and picture above is the Angel Oak on Johns Island, South Carolina. It is estimated to be 400-500 years old, at that age it has survived earthquakes, countless hurricanes, and threats from humans. It shades an area about 17,200 square feet (1,600 meters). Its longest branch is 187 feet in length and is 66 feet tall.

This is how God sees us! Look again at the pictures above. That is how God sees me and that is how God sees YOU. We are not weak and feeble! Look, God got you, so quit stressing over things you can't change. That tree is not lacking any of the water or nutrients it needs, it is not even worried about it. It takes each day as it comes.

This is a confirmation of the great commission. Jesus didn't break our chains just for us to take up air and space. Go and set the captives free, go and give hope to the hopeless. Go and rebuild the hearts abandoned long, long ago. You are equipped, now GO!
