Morning Coffee Revisited11/30/14 Eyes On The Prize (Five Crowns): Crown Of Rejoicing

August 26, 2015

Hello Family! We are continuing our series on the five crowns that await us in eternity! The next crown is a crown of rejoicing.

” Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stay true to the Lord. I love you and long to see you, dear friends, for you are my joy and the crown I receive for my work.” (Philippians 4:1 NLT)

“Dear brothers and sisters, after we were separated from you for a little while (though our hearts never left you), we tried very hard to come back because of our intense longing to see you again.  We wanted very much to come to you, and I, Paul, tried again and again, but Satan prevented us.  After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our Lord Jesus when he returns? It is you!  Yes, you are our pride and joy.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17-20 NLT)

The gifts that God gives us are not for ourselves, the ministries (big or small) that God has placed us in are not just for ourselves. The gifts God gives us and ministries He places us in are for the benefit of others. No matter what our gifts are, or how big or small our ministry is, the ultimate goal should be to draw people to Christ, to bring them into the Kingdome of God. My mom is a preschool teacher, yes she teaches the mandatory curriculum but she also uses the short time she has these children to teach them to talk to God, that’s how they begin each day. She is planting seed in them my mom is not on a big pulpit preaching a sermon.  She is operating in the ministry God gave her, leading children to Christ. The lessons she taught will lay a Godly foundation in that child.  She is only adding to her crown of rejoicing.

Think about the parable of the talents (see Matthew 25:14-30). The good servants took what they were given then they multiplied it. They had fruit from their labor. And the master blessed them. But the lazy servant was cast out. You may not be a corner soap box preacher; you don’t have to be to draw people to Christ. Operate in the gifts and ministries god gave you. Be open and be ready for Him to use you. And when it is time for you to enter eternity, you will see all the lives that you impacted. So be open and eager to be used by God to minister to someone. Aim to take as many souls to heaven as you can. Don’t show up in heaven by yourself.

Much Love & God Bless
