Jealousy, Selfishness, And Pride (Part 2)

“If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. 15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. 16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind..” (James 3:13-16 NLT)

Selfishness

Hello family, we are continuing our  series Jealousy, Selfishness, And Pride. If you are just joining us please click the link below and read yesterday’s devotion before reading this one.

Selfishness is linked with jealousy. When we are jealous we are thinking about us! I was thinking about me! I wanted what that other brother had for myself. God uses whom ever he wants to use. it he picks someone else other than you, don't catch a fit! There is a reason God Choose to use that other brother or sister. If any thing we should be happy, they are on the same team, they are working with you in the kingdom of God. So why despise your teammate! they are doing their part In the body of Christ! Stay in your lane and do what God has called you to do!

STOP the selfishness! Who are you? If God had not breathed breath into you, you would not be here! Don’t forget who gives you the ability to breathe. You are not all that and a bag of chips! Humble yourself before God!

  1. I like that: "stay in your lane and do what God has called you to do." We have each received unique gifts and talents from the Spirit; we need to use them to the best of our ability for the glory of God.

    Wonderful series.
