Morning Coffee 4/2/15 The Armor (Helmet Of Salvation!)

April 2, 2015

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. (Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT)

Hello, family. The Helmet Of Salvation is another piece of the armor of God. We wear helmets to protect our head from damage. I have heard many stories of people who were severely hurt or killed while riding a bike or skateboard because they did not have a helmet on. Any temptation to sin is processed in the mind. The saying is true “where the mind goes the man follows.” If we do not daily put on the helmet of salvation we will be leaving ourselves open to be attacked, not just by the devil but by our own fleshly thought patterns as well! “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:2 NLT) When I don’t keep my mind renewed with the things of God, I get off track from where God wants me. On the flip side when I am consistently refreshing my mind with thoughts and meditations of God I am in an unstoppable flow.

“We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT) Why? Because we are destined for something greater that anything this world could ever offer! Eternal peace and fellowship with God! “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” (Romans 8:18 NLT) Nothing more to say other than put on your helmet of salvation!

Much Love & God Bless
