Morning Coffee 11/17/14 Giving Your All (When Your All Isn't Much)

“While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people dropping their gifts in the collection box.  Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins. “I tell you the truth,”  Jesus said,  “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them.    For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.” (Luke 21:1-4 NLT)

Hello family. We are at the beginning of the 21st chapter of Luke, Jesus and the disciples are at the temple watching people put their gifts into the collection box. Yes, we may have read and heard this passage of scripture before. Please keep an open mind and allow God to speak to our hearts.

This story goes way beyond giving money. We can apply this to other aspects of our life. My mom is a preschool teacher. During the day she plays worship music. One day my mom was singing o holy night. And one of her students heard her singing and asked my mom to keep singing the song. My mom is not super talented at singing, but my mom’s singing skills is not what matters. What matters is that a song of praise was on my mother’s heart so she sang from her heart to God. That out flow of worship blessed that young child and filled her heart with the desire to worship God.

It’s not the quantity of what we give but the quality, God wants our all, He wants all we have. You may think what can I give that God can use? I don’t have the study skills of a scholar or I don’t know a thousand scriptures by heart! That is not the point, the point is God is keeping his eye out for anyone will to say Lord I don’t have super great skills like everyone else. But what I do have I surrender to you! God is looking for someone who will give even when all they have is little.

Much Love & God Bless
