Morning Coffee 11/16/14 Be Ready To Stand
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:10-12 NIV)
Good day family. If you have been listening to any form of news media you more than likely have heard about the city of Houston Tx and mayor Anies Parker sending subpoenas to five pastors ordering to turn in their sermons and speeches that preach against homosexuality. Well on November 2, Grace Community Church in Houston Hosted I Stand Sunday a service/rally created to unite brothers and sisters in Christ to stand with the pastors as they continue to stand for the Gosple of Jesus Christ. The city of Houston has since withdrawn all subpoenas against the pastors. But don’T think this is over, no this is not the last that we will hear of this.
Majority of the devotions that I have written over the past few days have been themed around following Christ. Well now more than ever is the time we need to take deep root in God and His Word. What is going on in Houston will find its way elsewhere. Challenges against the Gospel of Christ will only increase. That is why we must be ready to stand. Let’s not have a laid back attitude and say “it's not happening here yet” or “don’t worry it will all die down” No! Arm yourself and be ready. Don’t waver plant you feet on the Rock of Christ, and follow Him no matter what comes your way!
Much Love & God Bless
