Morning Coffee 10/23/14 Hard C Over An Easy A (In Every life A little Rain Must Fall)

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,  whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4 NIV)

Good Morning family, I have a question for you, would you rather go through this life with a cheat code sheet, already having the answers to everything but never learning or growing from the experience? Or would you rather go through the problems and test of this life without all the answers, sometimes stumbling and falling, but growing stronger and learning from the thing that made you fall and stumble?

Before you answer listen to this. Right now as I write this devotion it’s a rainy day. The sun’s light is dimmed by the gray clouds that hang overhead, it is fall so the temperature is cooler so the rain is cold, but what does the rain bring? The rain brings life, nourishment to the trees and plants. It cleans the air and washes away dirt and grime that has built up over time. Ever notice that the sky seems bluer and more vibrant after a thunderstorm? That’s because God uses the storms to clean the air, all the pollutants that were in the air before are now gone and the air is clearer.

The storms that God allows to come in our life are meant to make us stronger; they expose weaknesses in us that need to be made stronger. Yes, it would be nice to have a cheat sheet for life and get an easy A on every test but what would we (me included) have learned? Verses going through life having to look up with tears in our eyes calling on God to get us through. We may come out of that test with a barely passing grade of C but we learned some things, we are equipped with a stronger faith in God our spiritual senses are sharper and we a better equipped for the next storm that will come.

So I ask you again, would you rather go through this life with a cheat code sheet, already having the answers to everything but never learning and growing from, experience? Or would you rather go through the problems and test of this life without all the answers, sometimes stumbling and falling, but growing stronger and learning from the thing that made you fall and stumble? Remember in every life a little rain must fall.

Much Love & God Bless
