“Now’s your opportunity!” David’s men whispered to him. “Today the  lord  is telling you, ‘I will certainly put your enemy into your power, to do with as you wish.’” So David crept forward and cut off a piece of the hem of Saul’s robe. But then David’s conscience began bothering him because he had cut Saul’s robe.  He said to his men, “The  lord  forbid that I should do this to my lord the king. I shouldn’t attack the  lord ’s anointed one, for the  lord  himself has chosen him.”  So David restrained his men and did not let them kill Saul. After Saul had left the cave and gone on his way, David came out and shouted after him, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked around, David bowed low before him. Then he shouted to Saul, “Why do you listen to the people who say I am trying to harm you?  This very day you can see with your own eyes it isn’t true. For the  lord  placed you at my mercy back there in the cave. Some of my men told me to kill you, but I spared you. For I said, ‘I will never harm the king—he is the  lord ’s anointed one.” (1 Samuel 24:4-10 NLT)

Hello family! I’m sure you have heard the expression “the patience of Job” to describe a person’s great amount of patience in their situation. Job did have a great amount of patience in dealing with all that happened to him. But as we see from the above scripture he was not the only one who had great patience.

Put you self in David’s position, you and your men are out in the wilderness hiding from Saul and his men. Right before you are King Saul vulnerable to any attack, he does not know you are there, your men urge you “go this is your chance! Go get him bro!” You move forward but instead of killing your enemy you cut a piece of his robe and your conscience bothers you. You tell your men it’s not time, “I won’t touch the Lord’s anointed”. That is patience! David spares Saul’s life on not one but two occasions! (I will let you find where the other is) That is patience, David waited on God to move instead of listening to his men. God made David king, David didn’t make himself king.

Nothing more to really say! Don’t take things into your own hand, the thing you been promised and anointed to do maybe right within reach but if God tells you wait not yet we need to pull back and wait!

Much Love & God Bless
