“Then the lord said to Samuel, “I am sorry that I ever made Saul king, for he has not been loyal to me and has refused to obey my command.” Samuel was so deeply moved when he heard this that he cried out to the lord all night.” (1 Samuel 15:10 NLT)
Morning family, we are in 1 Samuel chapter fifteen. King Saul has not done what the Lord told him to do through Samuel, he did not completely destroy the Amalekites and all their possessions. He has kept their king Agag alive and kept all the best spoils of battle. God was not pleased, if you read on further you will see that Saul tried to quickly fix things by admitting his sin but it is too late.
“As Samuel turned to go, Saul tried to hold him back and tore the hem of his robe. And Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to someone else-one who is better than you. And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!” (1 Samuel 15:27-19 NLT) From that point on King Saul’s reign went into a downward spiral. The Lord told Samuel to stop mourning over Saul and go anoint the next King of Israel (Read 1 Samuel 16:1-15).
Let's be obedient to God! Let's not be like king Saul and do our own thing with the things God has placed us as stewards over. I need to be more obedient to God, I don’t want someone else to do the job God first gave me to do! Let's not allow our flesh or anything else to cause us to lose out! Let’s Do It Right The First Time! There may not be a next time!
Much Love & God Bless
