“But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived. But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:13-17 NLT)
My brothers and sisters don’t get tired of reading and studying the bible which is the word of God. Let’s not get caught up in what we have already learned. We can study His word for a thousand years and we still would not know the full wealth that is contained in its sixty six books! Don’t ever approach His word with an “I heard this before attitude.” You never know how it may help you on this journey called life!
I know I did a previous devotion on the importance of God’s word earlier. To be honest with you I had grown stale, and I was not looking at the bible like should have. I am writing this Morning Coffee on the heels of a reigniting church bible study. We started Hebrews (READ IT!!!) and as we studied the scripture God reignited my fire for His word along with a stronger drive to keep following Christ! Don’t take God’s word for granted. Don’t get self absorbed in the knowledge you gain from it. Keep a mindset of humility and always be ready receive what god has to say to you through is word!
Much Love & God Bless
