Morning Coffee 8/26/14    The Beatitudes:  Seeking His Righteousness (Justice)

”God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6 NLT)

Jesus is continuing His Sermon on the Mount, He now speaking about those who thirst after righteousness.

Mans justice pales in comparison to the justice of God, you can’t even compare them. So kick the human definition of justice (righteousness) out the window. It is obsolete, non applicable here. Gods Justice (righteousness) is perfect without any flaws. “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.  A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.” (Deuteronomy 32:4 NLT) This is the Justice (righteousness) we must seek after. It is only His justice (righteousness) that will fully satisfy us. You don’t have to look far to see where mans justice (righteousness) fails.” All of us have become like one who is unclean,  and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;  we all shrivel up like a leaf,  and like the wind our sins sweep us away,”  (Isaiah 64:6 NLT) Back to what I mentioned in yesterdays devotion about not getting back at the person that hurt you. If you Go and take things into you own hands you maybe satisfied for a while, but as human nature is, you probably will still hold a grudge against that person. But taking it to God and letting Him handle it will bring true healing and satisfaction.

You see when we seek after His righteousness, we are surrendering our will for His. While you are in the situation you may not see how His righteousness is going to work out. But when you come out of it and look back and see how God just worked everything out. It will fill you with more faith and hope and it will be easier to “let go and let God.”  God’s Righteousness is perfect, so let Him take the wheel of your life and Let Him Have His way, you won’t regret it!
