“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:14-15 NIV)
“Abba Father” This is a term not anyone can use. Only with true born again believers does it have true significance. It is a term of intimacy and endearment between God and His children.
When we cry “Abba Father”, it’s not for just any old thing. It has a much deeper meaning! The word Abba is Aramaic word and means daddy. Daddy is normally used by a young child to it father and has a much deeper impact than dad. Daddy is more personal and intimate.
If you have been saved by the blood that Christ shed on the cross then you are a child of God. “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” (Romans 8:16 NIV) You can call Him (God) “Abba.” Think about it you can call God the ruler of the universe Daddy! Take a few minutes to let that sink in and marinate! Awesome isn’t it, that we can be that personal with the one true God!
Don’t take your personal access to God lightly It came at a high price. Because of Christ sacrifice we are co- heirs with Him and because we are co-heirs with Christ we will share in his suffering and His Glory. ( read Romans 8:17) Do not be discouraged by any suffering present or future, you have your heavenly father to call on, your Daddy, your Abba! And he will see you through it all!
Much Love & God Bless
