READ GENESIS CHAPTER 18,19:1-29!!!!!

“What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?  Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.” (Genesis 18:24-26 NIV)

This is a portion of Abraham’s prayer to the Lord to spare Sodom for the sake of the righteous people living in it. (Lot and his family) He was interceding for them so they would not be destroyed with the wicked.

We all have one weather we know it or not, that one person that is praying for us while we are in the middle of a storm or in hostile territory. God still destroyed Sodom but Lot and his daughters were saved by the two angels sent to destroy the city. His wife and sons in law didn’t make it (but that is cup of morning coffee for another day.) God heard Abraham’s prayer and He did spare the righteous that were in the city.

Has the Lord laid someone on your heart to pray for? Or have you been praying for someone for some time? I want to encourage you to pray and keep praying for them. Your prayers are not going unheard. God has given you the task to intercede for them. Keep praying, your prayers move God’s heart to show that person some mercy and grace. My uncle is a perfect example. My mom has been and praying and continues for him. He was heading down a path that was going to destroy him. But for twenty plus years my mom kept praying and never gave up! And now with in the past year God has done an awesome work in my uncle’s life. He (my uncle) is a totally different person. It is amazing! So don’t quit praying for that Person don’t give up! Keep interceding for them!

If you are praying for someone keep praying, be there intercessor. If you are in the middle of a storm or hostile territory know that you have someone interceding on your behalf! Be encouraged and keep seeking God.

  1. Funny how God works. (Funny in a good way, that is.) I just had the thought this morning during my morning readings, "I wonder if anyone is praying for ME?" I guess this is my answer. God is always timely. Thanks.
